Slow internet at college?

I am at Michigan State University, and I am using an ethernet cable from the ports that are supplied to us in the dorm room. My roomate is using the same set-up, from the same port.

My internet goes EXTREMELY slow, videos don't work, things take forever to load. He doesn't have any of these problems. I've used his cable and I've switched the port that my cable is connected to, nothing works.

This leads me to believe that it's something wrong with my computer, any ideas?
 
Try doing a virus and spyware search. Also try deleteing your temporary browser files. It is also a good idea to do regular disk-defragments on your computer.
