Whats your views on slither guys?

I went to see it on friday, expecting a great, funny but squirmish horror film ( as it is billed as a horror-comedy) but came out the cinema thinking WTF??

It wasnt that funny at all - yeah, theres a few laughs - but nothing memorable. same witht the horror - theres nothing that made me jump or squirm...

Plus it drags for about 35 minutes untill something substantial happens!

Very Dissapointed.

I disagree and loved every minute of this.

The humour was subtle and intelligent. The 50's style B-Movie tongue-in-cheek parody worked really well I thought.

Definitely one I would happily see again and recommend!

I noticed it was written and directed by the writer of the Dawn of the Dead remake.

Watched this film on Saturday and thought what a complete waste if money, the only good point of this movie was when it eventually ended !

Am going to see this tonight, I can't suffer 2 crap films in a row surely!!!
It can't be THAT bad!

We're going expecting some light-hearted stupidity, will it deliver?

It supposed to be a satire of all the monster B-movies of the 50's 60's and throw-backs to movies like Tremors. I think the critics rated this movie highly, and because it's from the same makers as the brilliant Dawn of the Dead remake I'll see it...

I thought it was pretty good, especially the effects but will appeal mainly to an older horror loving crowd.
If you watched a lot of B movie horrors on VHS in the 80s and early 90s you'll get many of the jokes and references.
It has to be said though Night of the Creeps covered the same ground in a similar tongue-in-cheek fashion more than a decade ago - the slugs were pretty much a rip off of that (although Shivers got there first of course).

Thought it was an okay film I liked it! A little bit over hyped tho, and made out to be something it's not...next Shaun of the dead it wasn't... didn't think it was that funny either, just a decent homage to the horrors of the 80's :D

So you left the cinema did you? Can't believe people do that, what a waste of six quid! It's not that long a film anyway and the ending had the best F/X of the movie.

I liked it!

I was so worried after reaidng reports on here of people saying how bad it is, I thought it was pretty good!

It made me jump (I'm ashamed to say) and made me laugh, a good mixture. The humour was right up my street however I seemed to be the only one laughing at the cow falling over :o

At the end of the day I suppose it all depenRAB on what people find funny, I haven't seen many horror's so its unlikely I've seen any of the films this is supposed to be mocking, but it doesn't matter and I still had a bloody good giggle.

The scariest part was the trailer for 'When a Stranger Calls'....

I would have liked it better if the trailer I'd seen had been more accurate. I expected it to be much more of a comedy, kind of like evolution, but they showed most of the funny bits in the trailer, and the rest was quite hit and miss. And I like films like tremors and the old stuff. I just wish I'd gone in knowing what I was going to be watching.

I went to see this last night not knowing what to expect after reading great review but my friend who had seen it hated it but then again he hated Shaun Of The Dead!
I really enjoyed it as I thought is was a great film that mixed the horror and comedy perfectly. I do however think that it is one of those films that you either love or hate as the coments in this thread show!
My only problem with it was that it was a bit slow at the start of the film!
Also Nathan Fillion was amazing in it as well!

Nathan Fillion is a genius, and if there's a complaint it's that the role doesn't give him enough of his trademark wry one-liners.
If they ever retire Harrison Ford from the Indiana Jones films but want to keep making them, they should get Fillion.

Slither, I really liked. My frienRAB had a problem with it. But if you know your exploitation horror flicks you'll really appreciate how it plays with the conventions of the genre.

Michael Rooker, I would also like to point out, is the man.
