Hello,

Total NEWBIE - rare poster - anywhere - Please be patient, if I do something inappropriate, postingwise.

I saved a voice mail from April 27, 2006. On May 27, 2006, earlier in day, voice mail was still there. At about 11pm, May 27, it was gone.

It's kind of pathetic, but I had to unexpectedly euthanize my 6 year old cat, ironically named Rip. While I was with him, at the vet, I left myself a VM of him "talking".

I just wanted to keep that VM, and was going to record onto PC, or a cassette.

I know, in the greater scheme of things, this is all very trivial. Just a cat...etc.

However, I'm sure other people with VM's that went bye-bye, might also stand to benefit from someone's wisdom regarding this matter.

If I had not procrastinated, I would not even be posting this. I just really wanted to keep that last little bit as a memory.

Aside from the obvious... Get over it and get a life..., might anyone have any constructive suggestions about the possibility of retrieving this message?

I went to the Verizon website, and it was not helpful.

Thank you, in advance, for your assistance.

Your best bet would be to call Veriizon's CS and or Tech Support, and see if they can help. And you need to do it soon, because the more VM's you get, the less likely it will be to recover a deleted one.

Nobody here is going to trivialize the loss of your loved one. :( You have our condolences and I sincerely hope your service provider can somehow help you retrieve that voicemail. I lost a cat three years ago, mauled by stray dogs, and that pain just doesn't go away. Best of luck with your voicemail dilemma, and may Rip Rest In Peace. :goldstar:

Im sorry about your cat. . . i had to put my dog down last year and it was the hardest thing * hug *

Unfortunetly, one a voicemail hits 2 weeks on most carriers it automatically deletes unless you go into your box and listen to it then save it again. . . Ive lost super important voicemails just like you due to this. . . Im sorry you can try to call your carrier but i dont think they can do anything. . .

i hope this helps even though it isnt a good outlook im sorry.

Wow... that's great. I have had to do this before too but never thought to get a recording. I'm so very sorry for your loss (not only of the cat, but also of the voicemail). I would find it hard to believe that someone on here would rant on you for wanting to remember something that was obviously important in your life.
