Sleepers

I'd recommend the book too, excellent read. "Sleepers" is one of the few films I've seen where I thought Brad Pitt actually managed to act a little. And Bacon... man, he pulled off the "bastard" role to an absolute tee in this. I HATED him!!! Great acting.
 
Yeh I hated Kevin in it too lol. The book is good- I read it after I saw the film though. The scene where Brad and the other guy said 'do you still sleep with the light on' is such a powerful scene
 
See that's the problem.

People think Sleepers is a good film because it was cynically marketed as such.

Apparently the book it's based on is also mereticious in the extreme so at least it was a faithful adaptation.
 
rubbish film - and what made it so appalling was the guy claimed it was based on true events then when the police looked into it, everything was made up

'abuse porn' for entertainment
 
I thought it was a decent film, though extremely disturbing IMO, I have such a low tolerance for abuse. Good acting in it, it is a long time since I've seen it, I'm not sure I'd want to watch it again.
