Skype users rejoice!!

The nice people over at Fring have finally implemented N95 support! Skype works just fine along with MSN Messenger with wifi!

Now you can really screw over the networks by just connecting to your GPRS or a wifi connection and call away!

wohoo! I'm going to give this a try. I was turned off by the fact that they didn't have N95 support but I guess that's only natural that it takes some time after an official release.

I too was shocked to have it work over GPRS. But it does on Cingular with no problem. I jsut got off the phone with my buddy. Its cool because I would never sit at my computer and chat, but its nice to be able to get calls from Friends all over the world for free. This is a killer app!

just installed this and made a call using skype, worked perfect....now i can talk to my friends in europe for free, this is awesome

Same old problem....tried to install from SMS, but never got the SMS message...emailed them, but have not gotten a reply. Usually it takes like a day, but it's been two days...wonder if they are on vacation?

I'm still waiting on tech support, but I actually had to reinstall the app. Now, when I have to fill out the registration info for username and password, I receive a registration error. I'm sure it is because my phone ID has already been registered. I see no way for exisiting users to re-enter their existing username and password. Anyone have any ideas?

i've been trying for over a month...
below are some of my emails to->from them

Hello Daniel,
Thank you for contacting our support team.

It looks like the application is unable to identify the sms as a genuine one that comes from fring.
Well, let's try to delete all the sms messages you got from fring and then try to install again.

Another thing - fring do not work on wap, so - make sure you are subscribed to a data plan with your cellular operator.
For the right settings for your handset, see: https://nokiags.wdsglobal.com/standard?siteLanguageId=118; choose your handset model, your country and your service provider. An SMS will be sent to you with the correct settings for your phone.

Please let us know if you managed to download the application and install.

Thank you,
Vadim.

Dear Dan,

Do you succeed in browsing to internet sites on your phone's browser?

Yes, I web-browse on this phone all the time, the install file will not download

Hi Dan,

Please follow the instructions below to install fring:
1. Open PC suite on your PC (If you don't have PC suite installed, go to www.nokia.com)
2. Plug your handset to the PC with a USB cable
3. Open 'Messages' on PC suite and send yourself (phone No.+15163814822) an SMS with the 2 lines below:

Welcome to fring, click the link to install: http://reg.fring.com/app/W.SIS?n=**********************************************

Note: This link is encrypted and will not work on a regular PC.
4. Click on the link you've just received on your handset and start the installation process.

I hope this method will work for you. If not, please let me know.

Thank you,
Vadim.

I STILL have yet to be able to download the install file, let alone actually install it... its getting pretty frustrating, especially because each "new" sms gets me to the same error message
