Skyfire will end support for Symbian and Windows on 12/31/10

S60 browser supports Flash, yes, does it handle flash videos well? No. It tends to stutter, get unstable and slow, on Android Froyo its handled smoothly, as if you're on a PC, got to try it on a Desire, and was very impressed, going to flash my X10 with the 2.2 custom ROM once the guys over at XDA are done with it just for it, but for now Skyfire does the job. The weird thing is that the Android version of Skyfire is a great browser, its got proper offline settings, and loads pages so quickly, we were screwed over from the very beginning in Symbian as that Skyfire was basicaly a Beta v1.0 before they then made a proper browser for Android and iOS, even though the former doesnt require it in its latest version.

The main reason I had skyfire on my S60s was because of flash sites (not pr0n :o). Now the need is gone and I haven't bothered with skyfire. It is never about a single reason for everybody.

Ok I understand not supporting windows mobile their market share its really low even though I like dealing with windows mobile, but S60 still holds a massive market in the world. They F** up there I know android and iphone are growing rapidly, android supports Froyo why would you go for a 3rd party browser? their browser its good and Skyfire flash for Iphone support its really limited.

guys try this website on whatever device you have WWW.ATDHE.NET and see if it works , it works for my n8 in the sports area and im able to play espn sporstcenter or any live sporting event, my friend with the evo4g couldnt play it so thats why im asking, and my e72 couldnt play it, but my n8 does. This is the sports not the section of the tv shows or movies on top.
P.S. its great for desktop browser though.

They will start charging for Skyfire and they said that Symbian users can easily get cracked Skyfire. And they will be losing money with Symbian. They are cracked apps for iOS and Android but very few people are using them.

LOL I think having the app @ 99Cent will be a valid price I think any one can afford 99cents. Soon iphone OS and Android will be the most hacked OS their just not so old like symbian and windows.

It's a convenience thing, if something is $1 the effort to pirate it usually isn't worth it.

Of course it shows how bad Symbian Signed was - apparently it's so easy to crack nobody wants to touch it, and all it did was turn off developers and users. S60v3 was the worst thing to happen to Nokia.

I bet. If you think about it piracy will always be here Music industry and movie industry is taking a big hit over this. Its just a matter of time when every App stores from every platform will be hit with piracy just the way things work.

Do you have any evidence of this? Last I've heard, both the music and the movie industries are having record profits. Yes, they want you to believe that those who download illegal copies would buy the real thing if they couldn't download them, but that is a bogus statement... In reality, most people who can pay, do pay for music and movies they consider good enough (although I would rather pay the musicians directly rather than some useless middlemen)...

Yawn. It's been like this for the past 2 years. Price it cheap enough, and the people who are willing to pay for it, will. Just like a lock - it only keeps the honest people honest. There will always be ways around the countermeasures taken to protect something.

+1

People who like apps usually support them buy buying or even donating.

Plus (at least what I seen with Android users) most don't mind having ads in their software if the product is "average" anyway...
