Sky Movies

Sky Movies in the daytime show boring, crap cheesy films but in the evening they show all the blockbuster films, does anyone know why?. I dont think its fair that we have to pay so much money a month and not have all the good films everyone knows on sky movies. It is really annoying me.

there are films i wish and im sure some of you wish too that sky digital would show. here is a list.

daytime and evening films
1. My Girl
2. Sister Act
3. Father of the Bride - steve martin
4. The Wedding Singer
5. Casper - christina ricci
6. MermaiRAB
7. Back to the Future - parts 1 2 and 3
8. Stephen King's It, Pet Semetary and Shining
9. The Exorcist (please show this film, pleaseeeeee)
10. Aliens

i know there are more great films but these are just examples, and they never get shown on sky movies.

Come on sky movies show all the blockbuster films.

They can't show those type of films during the day due to watershed guidelines. It's one of the things that annoys me slightly, I wonder if they could pin-lock a couple of channels and show 18 rated films during the day.

Your list of films is very old, wouldn't it be easier to go buy them on dvd!!?

;2980457']There are only so many movies that can be shown at any one time. Typically a movie will run on the channel for a set period of time, say 6 months, it will then be taken off, to make room for other movies.

Also, Sky may not have the rights to show the films you want to see. Take the Bond films (please) ITV has the rights to all of these films, so Sky will not be able to show these.

Lokking at your list, there are some films that were on Sky Movies not so long ago.

2. Sister Act - SM recently showed Sister Act 2
4. The Wedding Singer This was on sky a Year or two ago
7. Back to the Future - parts 1 2 and 3 These are being shown off and on, on Sci-Fi
8. Stephen King's It, Pet Semetary and Shining Sky Cinema have just recently shown The Shining, it may not have finished it's run yet
9. The Exorcist This was shown not long after the DVD release

The others, I'm not sure about, but you could always try one of the DVD rental by post websites.

I cancelled Sky Movies a year ago and used an online rental site instead (first going from trial to trial). I was able to watch much more movies I like, sooner than on SM and in better quality. Price was comparable with SM but became cheaper once the competing rental companies starting dropping their prices.
Now I stopped the online rental because of a backlog of about 100 movies I still need to watch. And that doesn't include the few dozens I downloaded.

I too complained about nothing being on for a few months and then decided to cancel. Haven't regretted it for one moment, even thinking of cancelling Sky all together.

Movie rental is ok, but you can only have 3 or 4 dvRAB at a time and have to wait at least 3 days for new ones to be delivered each time. Plus, if you want to rent older movies you run the risk of getting an old scratched dvd.

I've recently cancelled my movie rental membership in favour of sky+, that way I can record films on any channel and always have something decent to watch (regardless of whether or not pre watershed!). If theres a film that I really want to see then I buy the dvd.

I start work at 5am so by the time the decent films are on I'm usual halfway to the land of nod. The choice of films in the afternoons seems to range from kid with a dog that plays sport to Nero Wolfe mysteries.

I wish they would implement a pin-locked channel so I could chill-out after work and watch a decent film instead of the made-for-TV offerings.
