Sky Films

We had them for 3 months half price till the other week.
Which was an offer sky gave us.

We canceled this when the offer was up and was then offered them 6 months half price.

And its a very good offer but when paying

I used to enjoy having the Sky Movies package and still do. But can justify having them because the movies are just poor. I'm certain going to get rid of them just after January next year. As i'm sure them may have some good movies on over christmas and new year.

I'm tempted to do the same. Having Sky Movies means I watch films that I'd never pay to see at the cinema or on DVD - so why pay Sky to watch them?

Prime example: Angel starring Romola Garai. I watched it because it was directed by Francois Ozon (Swimming Pool) but it was completely bonkers and over-the-top, and not really in a good way. There are far too many second-rate films on Sky and not enough genuinely good ones.

can = cant

he had sky but cant justify havig the package because of the quality of movies shown.

its not that difficult to figure out what the poster means.

We had sky and cancelled partly because the movie channels went crap and partly because of the sheer number of aRAB on skys other channels.

We have freview now and go out and buy all the movies we want to watch on DVD. You can get quite a few dvRAB for the same price as a

Well, of the films starting at around 8pm this evening I've already seen four of them. That leaves Ghost Town, which I'd like to see, and six films that don't interest me.

Seen them on Sky, Cinema or DVD?

I generally don't watch DVRAB unless it is a night in or something that just wouldn't be available anywhere else.

I don't go to the cinema because I pay for Sky movies. I'd rather wait a year and watch them seeing as though i'm paying for them. I can go from 1 film a week to 1 film a night.

If the scheduling is right I can watch 4 films in a night on Sky (and possibly other channels, depending how the timing works).

All three. Seen at least one of them on VHS, I suspect. Of course Sky has to reuse its stock of films until it loses the rights but it can be frustrating when so many films on the same evening have been on before.

The Dark Knight, Juno, Ghost Town, Sweeney Todd, The Mexican, The Silence of the Lambs, Jerry Maguire, Die Hard, Hellboy II, Almost Famous, Fargo, Cloverfield, Baby Mama, In The Heat of the Night, Galaxy Quest, No Country For Old Men, Hot Shots, Dial M for Murder, Sleepless in Seattle, Indiana Jones, Burn After Reading, Magnolia... all showing in the next couple of days. Plenty of films worth watching, IMO.

If you tend to find that you've seen most of the films Sky show, then you're probably too much of a movie fan to get any value out of it.

I do enjoy sky movies but the amount of repeats is beyond a joke, ive seen robin hood prince of thieves about 30 times this year lol the best film ive seen on it was the boy who could fly and ive only ever seen it on once in 2 years that ive had the movies, they really need 2 keep changing the films, theres so many great ones out there that dont even get a look in.

It's all about what films Sky has the rights to show in the first place. There isn't, as some people here seem to think, a guy at Sky HQ going 'I don't like film X therefore we're not going to show it' ;)
And whether you like what's on Sky is a matter of taste really.
Having an HD sub is worth it compared to forking out on Blu rays.
