confrimed today a movie version of the tv show goes in production with a 2011 summer relese is anyone looking forward to this and what is the story

I really hoped this day would never come.

If they are going to do it, I hope to high heaven they get some friggin' decent actors in, i.e. NO one from any of the series...apart from that boy with glasses and a beanie. He was cool.

"COMPANY PICTURES, STORMDOG FILMS, FILM4 AND CINEMANX DEVELOPING MOVIE OF CULT E4 SERIES, SKINS

Producers Company Pictures and Stormdog Films, feature film financiers and distributors CinemaNX, and Film4 have today announced that they are jointly developing a feature film version of the E4 hit television series, SKINS.

Scripted by SKINS writer Jack Thorne, working closely with SKINS creator Bryan Elsley, the film is scheduled to go into production later this year, and follows four hugely successful seasons on E4. The latest of these has just finished its run, with the highest ratings of any series so far.

Director of Company, Charlie Pattinson, believes that bringing a film version to the big screen is the obvious next step for SKINS
 
I hope they call it film instead of movie, the word movie annoys me for some reason. Am I right in saying it is an americanism?

I take it members from both generations will be involved...minus chris & freddie of course (I'll say no more in case anyone hasn't watched the program ;))
 
I always thought what a movie would be like, especially what kind of story line would they take...

It wont work without AT LEAST, tony, Sid, effy, cook and JJ there probably the main ones you'd expect back
 
The first two series were great, but the third and fourth series were both absolutely dreadful. I hope none of the actors from S3 or S4 get cast in the movie because none of them, apart from the guys who played Cook and JJ, could actually act!
 
Series 3 was Excellent as was the Emily and Naomi storyline, it was perfect and i doubt Kat Prescott and Lily Loveless would of been up for a GLAAD award otherwise. Kaya could act rather well in my opinion aswell. :D
 
I would imagine Tony and Effy would need to be in it, if only to tie the two sets of characters together. I personally hope they bring back Sid and Cassie because I always wondered what happened to them.
Also, I thought JJ was a pretty good character, as was Emily.
 
Cook! Was he the hardcore chav from Eden Lake? If so, yes, he's good too. Hope he's in it. Not that I'll be going to see it. FACT. :eek:
 
i would expect a theatre release

all 4 seasons have been brilliant and latest cast were the best,hope the movie focuses on them heavily

I really hope this doesn't happen. I have nothing against the show, however, I feel sorry for the hundreRAB of policemen having escort away countless chavvy 14 year olRAB who try to sneak into this at the cinema. That's if it's rated 18, if it's a 15 then I would just expect to see loaRAB of kiRAB being kicked out.
 
It won't be rated 18, to uncommercial for cinema. I'd imagine they'll try to go to the limits of the 15 rating without going over them, much like Kidulthood did.
 
I agree I won't be going to see this neither. Skins a movie:eek:

Anyway only a handful of decent characters Tony, Sid, Cook and Chris.
The female cast are dire except maybe Katie/Emily (one of them lol) and Naomi.
Effy storyline was so OTT it was pathetic.
