Skateboarding competition...

I entered my first contest today and I placed 6th out of 36. "Why post that bs here?" you ask. The local skateshop was sponsoring (free shit) the first 5 places. :mad: :mad: :gun: :gun: :sword: :sad: It was fun, though, that's all that matters really.

Anymore stories of coming really close to something and not getting it?
 
Awwww...rats! That sucks! 6th out of 36 isn't bad, though. That's good times. If it's any consolation, I can't skate, snowboard or ski to save my life, however, I can sled like a motherfucker! :thumbsup:
 
i once called my favorite radio station, and i was like dude can you play system of a down-chop suey. He was really excited and shit sorta freaked me out and he was is there anyhitng else you want? and i was like nah just the song and hung up. 30secinds later they come back from commercial and the guy was like well we had our 10th caller but he didnt know about the contest so we gave it to next caller. the guy who blew Korn tickets away requested a song by system of a down. Im at home listening to this and my jaw just hit the ground i was fucking amazed and how ironic it was that i almost won without trying.....but damnit they WHERE KORN TICKETS. and i didnt win when i been tryin to win for so long. damn you 98KUPD
 
i bet you could scalp korn tickets on ebay and make a killing. i bought kroq weenie roast tix for my gf and i for 300% of their retail price that way.

and the food was so expensive you would sooner starve than eat.

scot - sucks that they gave away stuff to the first five, and there you were as 'first loser.' that's just my luck, too.

hey... I skate... well yeah I used to do it alot more... but now not so much... I had fun with my first competition... I got 23 out of 138... didnt win but hey i think i did pretty good... well man you did great to get 6 out of 36 and on your first competion... thats pretty damn good.
 
I saw Korn last year. Hell of a show. Nothing like getting cut off When sliding into home base with some girl. That counts as almost winning doesnt it?
 
he probably could have called back and threatened to sue. i'd be willing to bet their claim on the radio was that "the tenth caller wins these tickets" and not "the tench caller wins these tickets provided he makes reference to the contest."

i kinda feel they should have been legally obligated to TELL scot he had won the tickets; otherwise it's just baiting people to call.

I used to skateboard for 2 years, but I quit last february
I'm a dirtbiker now, for 2 years..and paintball, and bmx

skateboard just got annoying when my skill level dropped off and I couldn't learn anything else, I was aight at it, and I still remember how to do everything
but now everything is too expensive and I had to drop something that I didn't have time for, plus my friends ditched me on it, so it's not fun without them

oh and 6 place sounds good outta 36, I woulda been like 13 or something
 
I was in walmart the other day and reaching for the last copy of FARCRY when all of a sudden a little kid comes running up, iterally pushes me out of the way, and brings the game to his dad. He says DADDYDADDYDADDY CAN I HAVE IT PL33z?!?!?!??//1/1/1/1 The guy says no and walks to put it back when another guy takes it from him (niceley). I was SO pissed off. Oh well... I got Halo instead and now I'm happy again :) .
