SK3? Helio? iPhone?

So I had a Sidekick 2, but I upgraded to the T-Mobile MDA... what I THOUGHT would be my "killer app" phone.

HA!

I'm thinking about switching to the Sidekick 3, bu I'm afraid it won't have enough features for me.

Here's what I want in order of importance:

SMS/TXT (threading?)

MP3

Good battery life (I can listen to 10+ hours of MP3s on my MDA before the battery falls below 20% !!!)

GPS and mapping

MMS

Gmail

A decent camera!

Possibly video or music on demand

Possibly high speed internet... I have a couple weekly podcasts I can download directly to my MDA I listen to. Plus I'm a bit of a web junkie. But I'll live if I have to go without.

I'm just all-around disappointed with the MDA's lack of decent multimedia support (but it kicks *** as an overpriced MP3 player), and T-Mobile's lack of network and support for the device. But I'm afraid the SK3 just won't be phone enough for me! I have been eyeballing the Helio and considering other networks (Verizon) and may even hold out for an iPhone. I use my phone mostly for txting and messaging and email, so the SK3 seems like a good choice, but I don't know how the SK3's MP3 functions stand up, or if I can download podcasts from the device's browser. Plus I've gotten kinda spoiled with customizing my device (wallpaper, MP3 ringtones, etc...).

Also, I'm in the Kansas City Metro area.

And lastly, any info/experiences people have had wth porting numbers from T-Mo would be good to hear... I may port before my contract ends (I really, really dislike T-Mo).

Discuss!

Complaining about the MDA having slow data speed?...of course it's going to be slow, it has an old processor and T-Mobile only currently has EDGE. Either switch to Cingular's 3G, or Verizon's or Sprint's EV-DO network. The N95 might be out of your price range, so check out some of the PDA/smartphones that support 3G or EV-DO by going to sites like GSMArena or phonescoop. You might want to check out the TyTn.

i wouldnt go with helio mvnos are here today and gone tomorrow .. my sister is in a battle with them now..and as a mvno the customer service sucks..if i would go for a mvno i would go to ampd they are a better company than helio plus they have the moto Q out this month for a pretty cheap price. as for tmobile they have the best prices plus my favs, the sidekick3 doesnt have my favs but ive been with the sidekicks for a few years now i use data only so the few times ive used it as a phone has been great. its an easy phone the mp3 player is good not bad but your not getting an ipod here. i would consider a blackberry pearl or wait till tmobile gets its version cingulars blackberry 8800 ,only the tmobile version will have a camera and wifi ,the 8800 has gps, gmail app you can add as well. im not too much of a cdma person so i wouldnt say go to verizon (which is too expensive).. but sprint looks as if it has good deals.if you stay on tmobile you may also want to consider a dash..
