size for grips

Ok Ok.... Yeah I am a girl and very new to this stuff. I have a 02' savage and absolutly love it. I haven't seen much on here about others tho. If I am not mistakin I was told it is the same bike as the s40, just different name.....if so, can someone please tell me what size the bars are so I can get me some new grips... everything I look up just says will fit the s40.
Please help!

What's your objective with new grips?
If it is just to get something a little fatter to grab onto, you might consider foam slip-ons. Cheaper and easier. First thing I did to my new bike!
 
Thanks for the info on the 1-inch...my hubby was impressed I knew that, but I know where the credit belongs...Hee Hee

My objective I guess is that I just don't like the ones that are on there now. Not really looking for something fatter to grab onto. I don't like the feel of the ones on there now...to me they are to hard and I don't keep a good grip on the slick surface.
My hubby has the foam grips and I do like em, so we will see...LOL I am a cheap skate, so that will prolly be the way I go!
 
Yeah, the ISO grips are the ones I was looking for originally. They are everywhere, but I will look till my dying day to get the best price...hahaha!
If anyone has the ISO's, does the gel part get soft as time goes on?? A buddy of my husbands had em and I remember em being softer than what I have seen in the stores now.
