Sis wants drop-dead gorgeous phone

I can't speak for the quality of the KRZR K1 specifically, but generally speaking, the GSM razrs I have (V3, V3i and D&G V3i) still work through moderate usage and never gave me any problems.

I'm not sure about the release date of the Z750, but from the specs it look like it's going to be a midrange HSDPA/3G phone, so I don't think it will be too expensive, probably competitively priced with other 3G offerings.

That's good to know about the Motorolas... I've always admired their designs, but I've always been apprehensive about their performance.

I would imagine SE would price it higher than the z610, which goes for about $250. I don't really like SE designs except for that one, and I'm not that familiar with Ericsson to begin with.

I currently have two Nokias, which I like them, but it's hard to find an 850 Nokia with feminine appeal.

I really don't know what to get her and my mom. I really wish I could get them Nokias, but it's hard to come across ones with 850 and in pretty colors.

I'm just thinking I might get them the K1 at&t version or an unlocked PEBL (what my mom likes) and a V3i purple (what my sis likes).

Any suggestions that can beat a U6 and V3i?

A U6 is probably good enough for your mom. The white U6 seems like the most unique one, well that and the limited edition black suede U6.

Personally, I'd get a K1 (blue, gold or red), Z6 (the mandarin orange one looks hot) or a V8 over a V3i, unless all your sis cares about is the color, then maybe you can save a few bucks with the violet (or pink) V3i, or even a pink V3xx as suggested above.

Yeah, I'm sure my sis would like a pink V3xx, but she's spending a year in Italy, and I think the 900 MHz band is important (not that she'll be using it much, but still.)

I was thinking the same thing about the V3i, for it is more expensive than the K1 (from Motorola's site), but my brother has a K1m, and it's been nothing but trouble, and my sis thinks that the K1 is the same phone, but I would think that they would be pretty different, yes?

Also, another question is "if we get the K1, do we get it through at&t or unlocked?" at&t's site lists it as $99, but that's with a $50 rebate, so I might as well say it's $149 (because with my luck, rebates are seldom granted.) Motorola's site has unlocked K1s for $214, which I think is a pretty good deal.

I guess I'll talk to them and see what they like. I wish I could get them a pretty Nokia with 850 because I have two Nokias (E61 and 3250) and I like the ability to use each other's chargers, etc. Plus, I like Nokias a lot better than Motorolas. While I thought I would they would be fine without it, after talking to people in the at&t forum here, I'm not comfortable getting my mom and sis something that doesn't have 850, and I don't feel comfortable choosing something for them without 900, either.
