single speed mountain bike help?

I'm converting a bike to a single speed but I'm having some trouble, I have everything on it and the chainline is as straight as I can get it but whenever I climb or pedal hard out of the saddle the chain jumps around and gets all jerky. Any idea what's going on here?

You may be using a rear cog that is to small or a front chain ring that is to large. You want a 2 to 1 gear. Such as a 34 chain ring with a 17 cog etc. I ran into that problem one time by using a chain ring that was to large.

Take it to your local bike shop to get your chain tightened. In the future, get a mountain bike with multiple gears.
