My dating experience is rather small.
When I was 15, I went out with a guy for one month that is now gay.
When I was 16, I went out with a guy for 2 weeks that is now gay. Then I was with my most recent ex, when I was also 16. We were together for three years until January of this year. It was a rough nasty break up and took me quite a deal of time to get on my feet.

I'm a shift worker and its hard to get out and meet people, so I thought I'd give online dating a go, at first for entertainment as some of the people on there were pretty funny, but then there was one guy I actually seemed to really click with. He wants me to meet him on the weekend.

After a few exchanges of emails, we swapped numbers... this was 2 days ago. In 2 days I have received 154 text messages, 4 facebook chats, 2 emails and 2 MSN chats, and tonight we are considering making the first phone call. I think he's as nervous as I am.

He's a sweet guy, very friendly, kinda cute, well spoken... I want to meet him, but every date I went on and the one relationship I've been on ended in disaster. I also don't know if him contacting me this much is normal? My ex sent maybe a text in the morning, a call at night when he wasn't over?

I really don't have a clue what I'm doing here, and none of my friends are exactly successful in the dating world. This is a whole new world to me. Do you have any advice on what I should do? Is it too soon to meet up? Is he contacting me too much? How do I get over these nerves? Is meeting up for coffee at around lunchtime a safe place for an online dating partner?

It's not too soon to move on with your life. Meeting for coffee/lunch around lunchtime is certainly your best bet. On the first date I would not extend that meeting any further than lunch and certainly not go anywhere alone with him. If you dig him and vice versa then maybe followup with a dinner. He seems to be quite overanxious but he is probably just as nervous as you are.

If he continues this flurry of contacts after you meet and you like him you should tell him that, nothing personal but you really don't have time for all these texts and chats. If you don't like him just send him an e-mail saying that you may be getting back with your ex and you think you should cool it for a while. Good luck.
 
Be extremely careful as you have never met this guy before and he could be pretending to be someone his not. Maybe get a friend to go along with you for support, tell him to bring a friend too so it's less awkward. Good luck i hope this helps :)
