my allergies often cause me to be congested not in both nostrils but only one, never both.

and another thing, it only tenRAB to occur when im sitting down, but when i stand up and walk around in the matter of seconRAB i can breeth clearly through both nostrils, but the second i sit, only the one nostril becomes blocked again:mad:. can someone explain this to me, it would be very appreciated

I think you need to see an ENT, if you haven't already. I knew someone with a problem like this and it was a partially deviated septum. It would take a doctor to see for sure.

Mr chris I know exactly how you feel. I am going through the exact same thing right now and i is drining me crazy. Once i stand up, its all great but once i lay down or sit i am congested again only in one side. And sometimes it changes sides......LEt me know what u find out

i've been taking over the counter 12 hour allergie pills called WAL-ZYR D everyday for about 2 weeks now, they work allright they just take a while to start working. ever since then my symtoms have been subsiding. :)

Its all to do with your spinal cord. Chris, you must be slouching when sitting eg in front of PC or sleeping in a position which is straining your vetabrae.
I had similar problem and decided to see a chiropractor, but for a different reason to sinus, but my nose was much clearer after the treatment

A deviated septum will cause one sided stuffiness, but if you ask a doctor why one nostril is plugged at a time, they will tell you that is how the nose works....it is supposed to work with one nostril closing up and opening on a cycle of what I believe may be 24 hrs......this has been told to me several times by different doctors....I do have a deviated septum and allergies, but now I understand why one side will open more and then the other side takes its turn..thats the way our noses work to work for us....it may be related to something called "the internal valve" of the nose.....

hey thanks for all the info =) luckily i only have sesonal allergies so i only have to wory about it untill spring comes around :P
