hike for the rich? Obama's tax cut for 98% is soon to be law and his increase on the 2% of the wealthiest has been getting Republican scorn. Why is this, they did not object to Reagans Tax Increases?
Reagan agreed to a tax increase in 1982 to reduce the deficit that restored fully one-third of the previous year's reduction, the three-year, $100 billion tax hike was the largest since World War II

Faced with looming deficits, Reagan raised taxes again in 1983 with a gasoline tax and once more in 1984, this time by $50 billion over three years, mainly through closing tax loopholes for business. Reagan raised taxes a grand total of four times just between 1982-84.

Why is it different now? Are Republicans just bigger hypocrites now? Or do they have short memories?

Tax cuts work! Tax increase do not! Tax cuts create jobs, higher taxes cause jobs lost! Higher taxes cause jobs to go off shore!

The Democrats and followers are always crying "Discrimination"! Is it not "Discrimination" to tax a particular segment of society far in excess of others? If you answer yes then it is also OK to Tax everyone on your street twice as much as those on the next street! Should we tax Christians at one rate and Hindus at another? Maybe the tax should be based on the first letter of your surname!

Discrimination has many faces and Taxation is one of them! Just tell me why someone who works very had long hours to earn their Money should be taxed more than the guy that sits on his duff and watches sports all day. Why should the Guy that stayed in School and got an education while working at the same time now be penalized by higher taxes than the High School drop out?

Got some answers for me on that?

and unemployment was above 10%,

reagon permitted the monopolies of todays biggest business's, "too large to fail," to grow bypassing the anti trust laws,

he was a likable man, ended the cold war with the former Soviet Union, which created a power vacumm permitting the rise of the middle eastern terrorists.

fundamentally he really wasn't a good president,, and to keep it balanced between the republicans and democrats,,, neither was kennedy

you fail to understand that when the government takes money away from the very people that create jobs it has a negative effect on the economy.

If you want to see the economy soar again all we have to do is freeze income tax for a year and watch out baby!
