Since pets are now bad for the environment...?

.....according to the book "Time to Eat the Dog? The Real Guide to Sustainable Living" by Brenda and Robert Vale, a German Shepherd is just as bad as a large car, a cat is as bad as a Volkswagen Golf, and 2 hamsters are equal to a plasma TV.

“If you have a German shepherd or similar-sized dog, for example, its impact every year is exactly the same as driving a large car around,” Brenda Vale said.

"They found cats have an eco-footprint of 0.15ha – slightly less than a Volkswagen Golf. Hamsters have a footprint of 0.014ha – keeping two of them is equivalent to owning a plasma TV."

If this is true, my question is: Was Michael Vick doing his part for the environment by staging dog fights, where at least 8 were killed?

Naturally, dogs wouldn't survive in the wild, and it is cruel to enslave any being.

I wonder what they think of people?

If that's really the case, they should go first, and become shining beacons of light to the rest of the "green" movement, which in this case, would become brown by the time it's all said and done.
