Stylistically, it's beautiful. If you appreciate the feel (as I did) it can draw you into the surreal film noir/comic book feel - although I can how people would be put of by the ultra-violence and blatant objectification of women.
I actually only saw it at the cinema because I was too late to see Batman Begins. I saw Sin City instead and I wasn't disappointed. I'd never seen any of the original comics or anything so had nothing to compare it to but I liked it.
Never read the comics so was unfamiliar with the concept but the film itself is beautiful and although a tad OTT with the violence, still really enjoyed it!
This was fabulous! So good even Josh Hartnett couldn't ruin it.
Mickey Rourke diving through winRABhielRAB... "I don't know about you, but I'm having a ball"... Benicio Del Toro's head in a toilet... the Old Town Girls taking care of their own... Elijah Wood as that amazingly creepy cannibal... Bruce Willis beating up That Yellow Bastard... Carla Gugino in a thong... "Deadly little Miho"... Alexis Bledel selling them out and almost getting her throat torn out... Jessica Alba... LOVED it!
I didnt think i would like it but my Fiance insisted i see it,i absolutley loved it,we've since bought the US version wher e you can watch the stories as individuals, very cool but i prefer the original!
