That was more substantial than I expected, but it doesn't sound like they get the home video release rights. It didn't say when the episodes would be uploaded to the partner sites like YouTube, but hopefully it will be less than two weeks.

Agreed. It is shocking that would get the entire block's spring lineup. And, I do hope that their partner sites get them quickly, mostly because I don't like Funi's player and Hulu and YouTube are compatible with PlayOn to allow streaming on the 360/PS3.

Also, the press release only confirms a simulcast partnership and not a full license.

I think the thread title should be adjusted to FUNimation announces simulcast partnership with Fuji TV for noitaminA. Does anyone think this is also to corabat the partnership between TV Tokyo and Crunchyroll? Also, this seems to be a huge move by FUNi to grab new titles for at least a simulcast before Anime Network and Crunchyroll can ever seek interest in them. It's a good move by FUNi and continues to build up why they're quickly becoming the #1 legit web site for subbed and dubbed content. It's truly the replacement for Toonami Jetstream most people wanted, especially since you don't have to pay for their content like you do most of Anime Network's and Crunchyroll's.

Good news for those who use Hulu and YouTube: the first episode of Five Leaves has been up on both sites since yesterday. Hulu says they will get Five Leaves 8 hours after it airs in Japan and YouTube posted the first episode literally at the same time as FuniVideo, although it's listed as noitaminA.

So long as more shows are getting out there to more fans legally as time goes on, there can be plenty of competition as far as I'm concerned.

I wonder if this means that FUNimation will essentially be automatically licensing every noitaminA show that comes along. Hmm . . .

Yeah, that's more like it. Hopefully they do this with their simulcasts from now on, so I can actually hope they get some of them, and not just Crunchyroll.

This is terrific news. Noitamina consistently airs some of the greatest series I've seen. It's great knowing that they'll be presented to fans legally.
