when i try to start sims 2 university the logo screen pops up, and then disappears and then nothing happens. i uninstalled it then reinstalled it, nothing. i met all the requirements but it still won't run.

Is University the only expansion you have besides the base game? If it isn't then install your other expansions, then install University. Something might be wrong with the disk. If there isn't and you've cleaned the disk with rubbing alcohol, make sure you've backed up your games, try uninstalling them with a free uninstaller off the web like Revo and do an advanced uninstall of all your Sims 2 games. Then go to your Documents/EA Games/Sims 2 folder (or whatever path your Sims 2 are installed to) and erase any existing folders. (Or just click on Computer/the drive your Sims 2 are installed to/ then on the page that pops up, in the very upper right hand corner is the Search bar. Do a search for Sims 2. The search bar will help find any Sims 2 folders located in that drive.) You can also try adding your Sims 2 games to Exclusions in your security system. Exclusions is under options if you open up your security system. You can add your Sims 2 games to Exclusions so the security system won't bother your game. If nothing else works, there might be something about the same problem you are having at support.ea. com and some steps you can do to try and fix the problem. (also updating your drivers might help, too.)
