Simpsons Season 3 due out August 26

God, they're really trickling these out aren't they. By August, it will have been about 12 months since the release of The Complete Second Series, and probably heading towarRAB 24 months since the release of the First!

So an average of one complete season per year - and what season are we at TV-wise at the minute? 16? 17? So at this rate it's going to be about 2020 by the time we're even up to where the TV series is currently, by which time DVD will be a pretty outdated format and the Simpsons will only be remembered by Die Hard fans and people who still have the socks!

Hmmmm.

Which is something Matt Groening referred to on the first DVD.

I quote;
"With 280-odd shows in the can and no end in sight, you might be able to complete your Simpsons DVD collection just before the next format comes along. Thanks for buying!"

He didn't just arrive on the back of a turnip truck, you know.;)

UPDATE.
play.com are now saying 28 July 2003 while amazon.co.uk are
saying 1 September 2003 so which one to trust to pre-order it from?
This season was the Simpsons at it's very best, it's got the classic Flaming Moe's and Lisa's Substitute so it's a must have!

It's out now, and indeed these are the most classic episodes. There's full episode commentaries and a special feature where you can play various songs from various episodes.
Anyone else bought this?
Just another quick question, why no DVD forum? I'm sure there used to be one.

I bought the season 3 boxset about a month or so ago on region one because I was fed up of the uk release date getting pushed further and further back for no apparant reason. Cost me
