Recently there has been rumors of a simpsons movie whether this is true im not entirely sure but i dont think making a movie is a good idea many movies like that end up woth bad storylines but please post your view.

(remeber this is my view not yours feel free to express yours.)

Its not rumoured, its a fact. They said that the film will come at the end of series (which they say could still last til at least 2010). If the movie is as good as the new series, it'll flop

IMHO, the only ever succesful TV-to-movie adaptation for a cartoon show was South Park. I think that it was also a smart move to place the South Park movie in the middle of the show's run, at the peak of its popularity.

So I question the decision for the Simpsons' movie to be at the end of the TV show's run. Not so smart, maybe?

At time of writing, one episode has been aired from season 17. Now, I'd agree that the last few seasons have been pretty lousy ybut ou shouldn't really write off 17 after 21 minutes.

Of course, if the movie is as good as season 16 (which was largely substandard), the movie wont flop...it'll be huge. The Simpsons is sadly untouchable and can continue to be mediocre for years to come due to the past glories of the show. And lets face it...they were pretty terrific glories.

The movie will be huge regardless of how good or bad it is. Because despite all the bad reviews it could possibly get, people still want to watch it just to see for themselves! So for the production company they will be thrilled because it will earn them a lot of money, but will probably be crap!

They are making a movie now. I've heard the woman that plays Bart talking about it. She said it would be out in about 2-3 years.

This movie is around ten years overdue! For the first 8 seasons it was good but it's just spiralled since and so I have low expectations for the movie. Now the writers are bored, the actors are bored. They have to resort to cameos just to get people watching. It should have ended a long time ago when it was in it's heyday.

This is why I'm slightly worried about South Park being renewed for another three years. Even though it's still great (some might say it's better than ever), they should maybe just end it on a high rather than letting it outstay it's welcome. I'd love to see another South Park movie at the end of the show's run.
