Simpsons Movie to be a PG

Surprised about that, seeing one of the jokes they gave away on Channel 4 News tonight, where Bart smacks into the window naked next to the Flanders - Rod and Todd are GENIUS in that scene.

I think that's fine.

Okay, so the last few DVD releases have been rated 12, but this is more often than not an odd episode, or an extra such as a commentary or special feature.

Most episodes of The Simpsons are rated PG or U. The adult jokes are not usually explicit and are too complex for children to understand anyway. So the PG rating for the film will be fine.

EDIT:

Look at an example of some DVD releases:
- Season five overall is rated 12, but every single episode is rated PG
- Season six is slightly more mixed, with four U-rated episodes, 17 PGs, and three 12s (Home Badman, A Star is Burns, and Lisa's Wedding).

I suggest you watch the latest trailer, it had plenty of laugh out loud moments (especially "Spider-Pig", lol), and i doubt that they will have shown ALL the funniest bits in the trailers considering the film is 86 minutes.

I can't wait for this, the PG rating doesn't bother me, most of the best episodes of The Simpsons were rated PG (and sometimes even U's).

No don't think so, although the beeb cut some language (w**kers) and a shot of irish people blowing up a pub with a union jack in the window in the beer baron episode.

Yep. It was "The Cartridge Family" something to do with Homer and eventually the whole family with guns...I saw it years ago on BBC2. I think it was "banned" in the over-reaction at the same time that legal ownership of guns was outlawed in the UK..Thank God we are now a gun free safe society.
I guess the same fate will forever hang over "Homer Vs the City of New York"

No, BBC2 showed "The Cartridge Family" at 6pm as usual; it was Sky One that was reticient about screening it at first (this is the only episode so far to not have been shown on Sky first in the UK). But "Weekend at Burnsie's" (the one with all the marijuana) is indeed only ever shown after the watershed on Sky.
