Nancy Cartwright the voice behind Bart Simpson has recently said The Simpsons movie is in the works. She said "You know what? We've just done the table read for the 'Simpsons' movie so although we've been promoting that we're going to do it, now we're actually doing it and are in production". However it will take a while for it to reach the cinema screen "I'm sure it won't take any less than a couple of years. I don't know the name of it and I can't go into details about it and we'll just have to see how it goes, but I think it's going to be great and the fans are going to dig it."
Also Simpsons spokeswoman Antonia Kaughman has commented about the Simpsons film as the show's principal voice actors have all signed on for the project and creator Matt Groening is delighted with the script for the film.
Antonia Kaughman says, "Now we're going to get the best of both worlRAB, evidently... They finally worked out a movie team, a team of the writers, because we could never hire outside writers - they had to be Simpsons writers, and most of them were working on the show.
"They finally put this team together that has time on the side, and they've been working on the script. So the movie won't be at the end of the series - they'll be working simultaneously."

So it may be in a few years but we will get to see Homer, Marge, Lisa and Bart on the big screen at last!

I remember Matt Groening saying a few years back that he hopes that the film can get the most cameo appearances ever in it. Movie experts have already predicted that the film will break recorRAB for the highest grossing opening weekend, highest grossing animated film, highest grossing film of the decade and potentially the highest grossing film of all time.

Oh dear I'm a huge Simpsons fan but think episodes have been been pretty rubbish for at least 4 years now and that's being kind. Anyone remember when Homer was raped by a Panda? That episode was a new low in my opinion.

Cameos have ruined the series in my opinion and will probably ruin the film.

Can we expect something like "The Simpsons are going to Spain / Outer Space / The Dogs"?

Still I guess it's nice work if you can get it.

If they really carefully think about the storyline then yes it would be good, but at the mo, all the new episodes are pants, theyre trying to copy Family Guy in some of the randomness and it just doesn't work! Oh but in reference to Homer being raped by the panda, i loved that episode! Funny as hell!

I think some of the most recent episodes have been good again. That one where the family get imprisoned for not loving America enough was great.

has anyone realised that they've allways said the simpsons movie will come at the end of the simpsons! theyre only signed to 2007 and thats when the movie comes out
