Simpsons Episode

I kinda think that the scenes that were "commercial only" were probably made for just that commercial, since I don't think there'd be any room for that footage to appear in the actual episode (especially given the whole plot of the "Bart in France" part of the episode).

Are you serious?

I have the first 12 seasons of this show and all of the Deleted Scenes put together doesn't even equal 1 hour.

David Silverman, right after Season 8 did some college visits where he brought along a Simpsons outtake / deleted scenes reel and when he was asked how much unseen footage was in the vaults, he said there was about 2.5 hours worth. So, 12 seasons later, if the same amount of unseen footage is still proportionate per season, it'd be about 6 hours worth.

That's because they don't put all the deleted scenes on the DVDs, just some of the better ones. And there were reportedly enough deleted scenes from The Simpsons Movie to make an entire alternate cut of the movie, but only about six of them made it to the DVD.

Yeah, but keep in mind that the last eight seasons have been produced by our old buddy Al "How-Can-It-Still-Be-20-Friggin'-Seconds-Short" Jean. Something tells me his amount of deleted scenes are much fewer than, say, Bill Oakley and Josh Weinstein.
