Junior, do you know why using just water is working? It's because your natural skin oils are good for your skin and promotes healing. Those face washes just strip the good oils off your face and then people wonder why they're dry, or breaking out. Your own skin oils are like a healing 'serum'. I've been washing with just water too, actually some days if I don't go out I don't wash at all and my skin is starting to look amazing! If I start to look oily I'll either do a quick rinse or just blot with a kleenex. No new breakouts for 2 weeks now!! Before that, I got a small zit in the beginning but it cleared up so fast.

It's been over a week since you posted your success, are the results still the same?

well, as of today I'm using water only, as soap etc makes me break out sooner or laters!

so will give water a try for at least 7 days and see what happens, in the past i have only washed with water wich did keep my skin clear for quite a long time,

well update this post in about week, laters ev1 ;)

I just use water for my acne. This was posted on here before by wholegrain, he/she said they would only rinse their face with water every morning and night. Well I've been trying it for the past month and it's working great for me!! I don't have any major breakouts or nothing. It's great for me because I have sensitive skin and I don't have to be putting on irritating products anymore. It's also great for people with oily skin as well. When I'm with family or frienRAB I can just rinse my face in the sink and all the oil washes off. It's great. I can't use clean & clear oil wipe paRAB because that makes my face red after using them. So try this and see how it works for you. wholegrain, if you're reading this thanks for the tip ;).

Ya sometimes I don't rinse with water either because my face looks even better sometimes when it's oily. Right now, I'm only getting one to two small pimples at the most about every two weeks. I don't do nothing to them, just rinse them and they clear away fast :).

Thanks for letting me know, I didn't realize that :).

I am a big advocate for washing with water only. I have been doing it for about two months and I have seen some nice changes. I use a cloth with hot water on it and I hold it to my face for 20-30 seconRAB. Then I rinse again with cool water. About once a week I use a scrub to exfoliate and I use coconut oil nightly as a moisturizer. I get 1-2 pimples a week - which is nothing compared to 4/5 months ago. I'm just waiting for those scars to go away!
I guess in time....

On a side note, I was using the aspirin mask as suggested on this board for about 3 weeks, and I mentioned it to my doctor and she advised against it because the absorption amount through the skin is unknown. I was a little discouraged because it was helping out with reducing and fading scarring.

Washing with water sounRAB great, but what about those of us who wear sunscreen and makeup daily?

I use three different ones that don't make my skin breakout.
I use Elf Clarifying Pressed Powder, Arbonne Pressed Powder and Physicians Formula Multicolored Pressed Powder. For a concealer I think it I use Cover Girl or Revlon blemish coverup (has salicylic acid).

I usually apply it in the morning and that's it unless I'm going somewhere then I'll freshen it up during the day. But those three wash clean with hot water and don't break me out.

I wear makeup daily and the water will take it off. Water is actually a solvent...think back to high school chemistry :-)

I was skeptical at first, so I would get a cotton ball with some witch hazel on it to wipe down and I never had any makeup left over. I only wear powder foundation, so that may be a factor.

Err, actually that wasn't me. My face is sooooo oily, it feels gross if I only wash with water. I'm pretty strict with myself about using some kind of cleanser. For a while I was just using regular soap, whatever we had around, maybe that confused you? Well either way, I'm glad this tip, whoever it came from, has helped you! :) :)

i might try just washign with water again, there was a time years bk when jsut washing with water use to work for me, guess i might give it a go again, as getting fed up buying stuff that just makes you break out again sooner or later

lol sorry I thought it was you. I wonder who it was though... it is working for me though. My skin is so sensitive water is the only thing I can put on my face without irritating it. But I am pretty sure it was you that said a low sugar diet is another way to stop acne. I am following that tip too and is working well along with this. So thank you for that tip :).

Yes the sugar thing was definitely me, and others on here have recommended it as well too. My acne got SO much better when I quit eating excessive refined sugar. I'd try washing with just water too except that I wear makeup and I sweat a lot this time of year. ;)

The Elf, go figure, the cheapest one, covers the red marks the best. The only thing is it is a small container. It does last me for about 2 months of using it 4-5 times weekly.

The Arbonne gives a smoother coverage, which I use when I'm going out, dressing up.

Other than that, they all work well and more importantly, they don't break me out!
