I am in law school and I take my notes in class on my laptop using Microsoft Word 2003. It worked like I wanted it to for the first few weeks, then suddenly it changed.

It used to be like:
I press tab and a black dot is used as the bullet
I press tab again to make it indent further in and the bullet changes to a circle

Now:
When I go to do the second line further in, the bullet stays where it is- just my flashing text thing moves..

Please, if you can, tell me how to fix this- I can't go through three years of law school like this! haha
Going..
Format
Bullet and Numbering
Customize
Doesn't do it.. There is nothing there about it, that I can figure out..

Format-->Bullets and Numbering-->Outline Numbered--> Should be on the top right by default, & if you click "Customize" you can play around with it and choose which bullets you like.
