SIM/Phone swap

if i take my sim from my i275 and put it in a used i560 i bought will it work right away or do i have to call nextel and have them switch it?

thanks. i did a search but could not find it

Is the used i560 phone manufactured for nextel? If so, should be no problem. If not, is it unlocked? A phone locked to a specific service provider will not work with your SIM, until/unless it is unlocked assuming all other essentials are the same. It won't hurt anything for you to simply slide your SIM into the i560 and see what happens. Not like it will fry the phone or the card.
I will give you credit for posting on the appropriate forum, our moderators appreciate this.

it is a badged nextel i560 i bought used on ebay. i dont have it yet to see if it works i was just wondering if i had to involve customer service for the swap

Actually, Yes, It will work. Rather it be black-listed or not, It will still work when you put the SIM in the phone. If you have insurance on your phone, You will need to call Nextel and have the IMEI numbers switched.

LOL..my response...in theory no, was to the simplified (simplified by a series of posts)question if he would have to involve nextel cs to have the sim work in the i560 when he switches phones. let's not confuse the newbie.
But....is insurance transferable?

Yes it will work i have swapped my 64k sim on just about everything nextel has but they are correct about nextel sims not workink in boost phones unless their unlocked
