I just noticed that Bell Expressvu is showing Silver Screen Classics on Channel 299 as a free preview for this month. This channel was on 337. Is Bell adding this to the digital standards package as most digital standard channels are in the 200 to 300 range or is this just a preview? I know that it is not Turner Classic Movies, but I still like the old films.

That's strange... My SilverScreen is on 337. It's been there since I subscribed almost two years ago. I don't get channel 299 at all. It doesn't show up on the guide and when I enter it manually, the tuner switches to 298.

I also enjoy watching old black and white movies. They're great on on wide screen TV. But SilverScreen has been a bit of a letdown... They have a very limited selection of movies and the repetition is horrible.

I love old films but when we had a free preview of this channel on Cogeco a few years ago, it didn't take long before I changed the channel.

Nothing compares to TCM and Fox Movies (AMC used to be good before they added commercials).

Just double checked. Silver Screen is still on 299 listed as preview. I can't find any info on the bell website, so I may call a CSR tomorrow and see what the scoop is.

The one on 299 is SILV2 and the one on 337 is SLVSC which is a free preview right now. But they both play the same content.

So why does 299 not exist on my 9200? ..

As I mentioned in my message above... If I hit 299 on the remote keypad, it takes me to the nearest channel my receiver will recognize.. In this case it's 298.

Isn't 299 on Nimiq 1 and 337 on Nimiq 2? My guess is that EV is giving their customers a free preview of what is on Nimiq 2 in SD and thus hoping for more people to add the other LNB. So, if you have Nimiq 2, you woundn't need the preview channel on Nimiq 1. Am I correct in this assumption?

any news on tcm and amc on bev? and also, for the free preview of silver screen classic, is there a list of movies that they are showing?

Did you lock out the channel and "hide locked channels" in the menu or have a favourite list?

That was it... Thanks... I had forgotten that I had locked out a bunch of channels so they wouldn't show up when I did a 'movie' search... Doh!
