Due to all the raves about this product, I've tried it a few times on patches on my face. Early Friday, I used it all over my face for the first time and tried to avoid putting it on all active acne lesions. As soon as I put it on, It seemed to right away cause redness in one spot (that next mourning it sprouted into a small whitehead - maybe i kept it from getting it bigger by icing the spot). Since then, another couple of pustules sprouted. One on my forehead and right near my nose. However, I shaved before and it didn't breakout around my beard area which breaks out after I shave. IT ONLY SEEMED to break me out WHERE I had bumpy and MOST L IKELY already clogged pores. It only specifically broke out in the T-zone (forehead, nose, and areas around the nose), which already has some dry flaky skin on it too. Everywhere else is looking good!

Should I stop using the OIL or is this just a purging process that I must tough through? Please help, I need some good advice if this is normal?

Thanks

You should tough it through. It will most likely subside very soon and there will be no problem and your skin will be all good. It's the same for jojoba oil. Lots of people have an initial breakout but if they stick it out they won't regret it. Take a few days break and try again.

Thanks waterlily! I'm goin to take a break because i want to look good for a special event on friday. But once i start again, should i put it on every day or like every other day? How long do i need to tough it through - two weeks or a month? I know you didn't have a reaction to it, but you seem pretty knowledgable about this product. Btw, How old are you and are you male or female? Are you continuing to see results and do you still have any acne? Do you normally have normal/oily/corabo skin? Sorry for so many questions, i'm just paranoid about trying new things esp when it comes to my skin.

Thanks again!

I wish i could offer you more input on the camellia oil, but i'm waiting a couple more days until i start usin it again (i wanted to give my skin two weeks to "calm" down).

The first thing is that you used the camellia oil for TWO weeks without any problems which suggests that c.oil doesn't seem like the problem.

The digestive system is most likely the cause since if you were having a bad reaction to the oil, it likely would've manifested earlier. The digestive cleanse may release some toxins through your skin as acne since you are cleansing your "insides".

The problem is you've been doing three things new to your overall regimen: 1)eliminating solvere 2)starting camellia oil 3) starting digestive cleanse. Its better to stay consistent and change only one factor at time so you can better asses if its the culprit to your break out.

In the long term, the oil seems like its good for the skin (healing scars, removing fine lines/wrinkles). Thats why I hope its the answer for me!

Let us know when you figure it out.

hey khan, can you just let me know if your still on this and whats its done for you? thanks

I e-mailed the company selling silkia camellia oil and they gave me a reply after I asked them about my initial breakout.

Here is a portion of the email they wrote to me that I thought could be helpful to others using any type of camellia oil.

"Camellia oil can cause purging in a small minority of people when they first use it. This is because the oil is deeply penetrative and is able to cleanse the pores by drawing the impurities underneath the skin to the surface, thus making it look like a breakout. This is normal. It will go away in 2 to 3 weeks and will not present any more problems when you use it again. You will get long term benefits from using the oil.

Many of our customers with oily skin and acne have used the oil without any problems. Some have acutually told us that the oil cleared their pores, saved their broken out skin and was great at balancing their skin oil production."

Interesting info. In January I decided to stop using my Solvere acne kit and started using the Silkia Camellia Oil. I used it for a little bit less than two weeks without any consequences. When I decided to try the digestive system cleanse I broke out bad on the 3rd day and I stopped doing it. After that I still kept breaking out so I got desperate and decided to use the Solvere acne kit along with the Camellia oil.

Could the Camellia Oil be causing it as well?

The only thing good I notice from the Oil is that when my pimples heal they don't seem to scar. Is this common?

If i get breakouts from camellia oil at first, should I use benzoyl peroxide for the pimples or not?
