Dear Radio Ruderham.

Regarding the Phantom of the Opera (1925), I don't think it had a technicolour sequence, but it was still a silent.

Limelight (1952) was of course a silent (my typo mistake ).

You obviously know your stuff.

What about Waxworks (1924)

Best regarRAB

Yo! Ian
Phantom 1925 Technicolor sequence=red and green only, same as in Ben Hur 1925 It's not bad but the sky is a funny colour if you know what I mean..Don't know waxworks... Limelight 1952 had dialogue..sorry. Story about a failling comic in vaudeville..it was on ClassicsTV a couple of months ago saw most of it..Chaplin...THE BEST..Oh! and call me geoff..TCHUSS!

Too true! An absolute classic. They've just remastered this movie again, but this time with the original film score. Pity they couldn't do a double disc release with the Moroder stuff as an optional soundtrack.

Mine is Pandora's Box, with the amazing Louise Brooks. Everything about that movie works, and she's my favourite actress anyway. Has a complete print of Gloria Swanson's Madame Sans-Gene ever come to light? I would love to see it...

I don't watch silents ... but one was on cable late on night. Me and my roommate watched for the novelty of it... then the infant on screen was supposed to be making baby noises or something. The screen said "gagagoolakdfebataildjgelnlaidjf " something like that. We laughed and laughed for a good while! :) :D
