Are you saying Wii doesn't support Wireless G? Mine does. I'm not too fluent in hardware or wi-fi lingo, but I know mine is a WRT54G Wireless-G Broadband Router.

it will be at some point soon, I've seen many things supporting N already

not a huge deal for video games, but seriously if I had a home network I'd love to have something faster than G last time i had that running on G i was kind of annoyed with how slow it was

Except the Wii is supposed to be around for ~6 years. By then, I doubt anyone will be using Wireless B or 480p for anything else Even broadcast television is supposed to make the switch to HD soon.

There's no way the Wii will be supported for 6 years. 5 tops. Nintendo will get on the HD bandwagon with their next console. They would be stupid not too.
