siemens gigaset se587 router - new laptop unable to acquire network address?

It sounds like the DHCP server in the router has stopped working.

Try resetting the router. Turn it off, wait 1 minute and then turn it on again. You will need to wait a minute or two for it to get going again.

If this fails then you will need to log in to the router and check its settings.

I have had a siemens gigaset se587 router from tiscali set to WPA2 for about a year. I use a laptop which connects to the wireless network with no problems.
I cannot get any wireless device (laptop, netbook, iphone, itouch) to connect to my wireless network. Only my original laptop can do so. Until a few weeks ago other guests to my home could connect wirelessly. Laptops and netbooks can find the network and connect but then give the message "acquiring network adddress" and then nothing happens, it just continues to say this. The router is not assigning them an ip address. Any ideas why all of sudden new devices cannot connect? I have googled this and tried a million things already.
