I gonna get a Sidekick LX from a friend but I don't have a data plan. This is totally fine for me because all I need the phone for is to text and call. However, I hear there are 2 major problems if you don't have the data plan:
-Contacts and pictures get erased just by turning off the device
-Text messages receive no notifications (but you still receive the text)
Are these really true? Considering Microsoft now owns Sidekick and T-mobile stopped Sidekick services should they have fixed these problems already?
Please answer only if you have a definite answer or have had or are having first hand experience.
Also the phone is unlocked..if it makes any difference.
