Sidekick 08 or LX, Which Do you prefer?

Hi I was never a fan of the Sidekicks because I always thought they were.....girly. Well I during the summer I was hanging out ALLOT and I love to IM. And one of my friends has a sidekick and I must say they do come in quite handy. I am thinking of getting a sidekick but I don't know which to get, the slide is completely out of the picture. I have to choose from the LX or the 08. And Does the 08 take memory cards to hold more music like the LX?
