Side scroll long contact names?

Hi - I have an HTC Desire. A lot of my contacts have long names that go off the screen with a ...

Is there any way to get some side scrolling or decrease the font size so that i can read the whole name?

I also have this problem, particularly when righting emails as some of my contacts emails have the same user name (ex. [email protected] & [email protected])
The way i have found around this is, as long as you are still using the stock Sence UI keyboard, is to. Flick your phone to landscape view when you type, start typing the contacts name, then it will bring up the box with, usually, 2 suggestions in it. Click the down arrow for more suggestions and it will bring them up across the whole screen.
This usually gives me more than enough of the address to send it to the right person!

thanks for the info i'll look into it. mainly need it in my phone contact list though so the smaller font option would be good.

*edit* just tried spare parts - works fine on non-rooted phone but the font size only applies to that app
 
ahh, i see what you mean. If your contact is longer than the screen it just chops it off... all i can say is if you long press on the contact it brings up the full name at the top of the menu.
not a good fix, but a quick fix!
 
thanks for the tip. shame they didnt think to include an option to reduce font size, or maybe let you view in landscape mode.
 
Agreed, it would make seance just to have it scroll when you stop on a contact...

or for it to auto shrink to font and make it fit on 2 lines...

anyway I'll keep my eyes and ears open and let you know if i see everything.
