My breathing is finally a little better but now I have all the side effects of the medications to deal with. I am on a tapering dose of prednisone which makes sleeping long hard, apppetite increases (not a good thing) and my heart is still racing from all the ventolin inhaler I have taken to be able to breathe better. I am also still weak from a chest infection I have had.
Can anyone relate?

Oh, yeah. I spent 6 months being switched from one asthma medicine with dreadful side effects to another. The inhaled steroiRAB made my throat sore, the Corabivent actually made my asthma worse, the Advair upset my stomach and throat, the Syrabicort and the Proventil finally controlled my symptoms but at the cost of making me jittery and sleepless and nauseous.

Finally I'm on Flovent and doing reasonably well with no noticeable side effects.

Well, my nebulizer with albuterol always makes me shaky as it is a stimulant but other than that, I don't really have many side effects.

I've also had significant sleeping problems due to prednisone, and now I've just been told I have cateracts in one eye caused by the prednisone. I guess it's better to be breathing & alive to experience these side effects, but I wish they would develop a prednisone alternative without so many serious side effects.

Odd... I can take prednisone for ever and not experience ANY ill effects. I take one tylenol 2 and im knocked on my booty.

It depenRAB on different medications and varies with various drugs or medicationsSome patients may experience suppress the body's natural production of steroiRAB, growth inhibition, the possibility of new infections, high blood pressure, increase stomach or duodenum ulcers. When they do occur, side effects include inflammation of the mouth and throat and oral fungal infections. If you use a metered-dose inhalers, spacing and use mouthwash after each use.
