My wife and I have had T-Mobile now for about 5 years and are looking to upgrade our ancient phones. Her decision is easy in that she really likes the Samsung T629 slider phone. I on the other hand am going nuts trying to find what I want. I want to stay under $200 for mine.
I want a thin phone as my current phone is about an inch and drives me nuts. I also want a phone that actually works as a phone well. I would also like a memory card slot for taking photos, and at least a 1.3 megapixel camera as I like to snap shots sometimes and using a cable or bluetooth is a pain. I also like the idea of an MP3 player.
I have looked at the Razr V3T, but the dealer tells me they have already had a lot of returns on them with problems, and I get the sense online from reading around that they are hit or miss. I like Motorolas in general for the ability to customize them.
I also looked at the KRZR, but that one gets mixed reviews as well. Everyone seems to like the look, but the reviews I have read say it is really nothing special. Some people love it, other say it is the same old thing in another shell.
The Nokia 6133 has good reviews, but everyone says the battery life stinks, and it is a bit thicker than I would like.
I have looked at the A900 with Sprint (I am willing to switch carriers if I must) but it doesn't have a memory slot. And if I switch carriers, I have the extra cost of activations to deal with.
The T619 Samsung is nice and thin and I like the size, but again no memory slot.
I have looked at every phone on Verizon, Sprint, and T-mobile, and Cingular. I would rather stay away from Cingular as I get the sense that their customer service isn't very good, whereas T-mobile has always done me right.
Does anyone have any recommendations? I probably would go with the V3T, but the reliability is an issue I am really concerned about. What good does it do to have a pretty phone that is only good at being a paperweight? Like I said, I am trying to stay under $200 if possible. Thank you!
