Shrek The Third

I really like the first Shrek movie, and dislike the second, this one sort of fell in between.

There were some really great jokes, in this I think the jokes hit higher points than in the second one, my favourite one being the horn blowing when Shrek was sailing away. The jokes actually felt more adult really, throughout.

The story was very simple really, but it lost its way at some points, I think the short running time really helped, it didnt feel overstuffed at all, which was good.

The best characters are the same as before, Donkey was great, but not in it enough, wasn't that much of a fan of Puss before, but liked him here...the gingerbread man and pinoccio both have their good moments. And there were some funny bits from other characters too...Eric Idle's Merlin is one of the best.

I am glad it was better than the last one, and this was defintiely good enough to entice me back for Shrek 4!

Movie 9 Rating : 7/10

The worst Shrek movie and one of the worst movies ever!!!

The plot was thin, poor, badly written and lazy.
I think one of two things went wrong here:
1) The markers just didn’t try and relied on the Shrek franchise and the voice acting talent to carry the film OR
2) The Shrek franchise has just run out of steam. Jokes that would have been funny in Movies 1 and 2 now feel tried. Also you don’t really care much for the characters in this film in the same way you would have in 1 and 2.

Overall 3/10

Definitely the worst of all three..but still worth watching compared to "Silver Surfer".
Plot is not well-built and probably Artie's character is not too well-liked? I hate the 'nasal' voice.

Personally, I've got CG movie fatigue. So when my 8 year old son dragged me along to see it I wasn't expecting much.
I have to say it wasn't as bad as I'd heard. Not very funny though - it only found it's feet about two-thirRAB of the way through. Weakest one of the three but still better than some of last year's CG offerings.

I wasn't that keen on the Shrek sequel...didn't like that Puss In Boots character much.....I'll probably go and see the third.

Are they making a fourth then!? Lawks. They never know when to stop;)

Aww I'm disappointed now. I wanted to see it. I loved Shrek 2 and I thought this was going to be even better.

After reading the comments here I'll just wait for the dvd.

Thanks for the warning.

ahh march i 1st seen the trailer and was so looking forward to this one
loved the 1st
loved the second own them both on dvd

this one is just a disgrace to the other 2 its just missing something major the story is painfully boring kinda like the stories from the other countless boring 3d ami movies like
wild, madagasar, shark tale.

from shreks other 2 movies youd expect a decent story in the likes of incredables, nemo, toystory 1+2

justin timberlake awful choice you can tell hes just a moneymaking add on voice which they did not need they had four stars already

funny moments i laughed 3 times thats how bad it was and the main laughs was to be had from the last 3 mins.

in the second i laughed non stop i really did hope for the best and was soarly disapointed even the 8 yearold and 13 yearold were like this is boring its not funny.

kiRAB up to 6 would be happy with it id think simply because they wont care about story or jokes they be happy to hav ther fav characters back on screen again.

shrek 3 for me feels like its all just about the $$$$$$
and they dont care about noting else.

so didt think id be dissing shreks 3rd outing oh well hopefully puss in boots spin off movie will be well thought, developed and made .

I think I must be the only person to like the second one better than the first!

I didn't like the first one at all actually come to think of it... but I loved the second one.

I really enjoyed it. I'd heard that it wasnt as good as the first two, but I have to disagree. Number 2 is still my favourite though!

I'm going to agree with you. I went to see it on Saturday - the cinema was packed - most of the early showings were sold out.

I laughed quite a few times and thought it was a fun movie personally. I was expecting not to have enjoyed it from previous comments on here - but it just goes to show - make your own mind up, rather than rely on other people. If people asked me, I'd say if you want simple fun escapism for an hour and a half - go see it! :)
