Shrek 4 takes less than it's predecessor sequels on it's first day.

thought the first 2 were good. 3 was boring obviously I've not seen 4 but I won't be rushing to see it. Why can they not just stick with 1 or 2?

they should have stopped at 2. Saw the 4th last night and it's 'ok' better than the 3rd installment but still not a patch on 1 and 2. The humour is really lacking and there's nothing clever here. Many recylcled jokes and a very obvious plot with no sense of danger. I laughed a couple of times but it just seemed so pointless.

the 3D adRAB nothing either, so I would say save this for DVD.

I saw the 4th one today because I didn't wanna wait around for 2 hours to see Get Him To The Greek or Street Dance, plus I like Shrek. It wasn't awful, but they should have stopped at 3. I hope they don't make another.

^I believe, mercifully that the ASPCA have stepped in and took the dead horse away from DreamWorks as they'd beaten it so much.

In other worRAB, no there's not a 5th one - it got canned! :D

I thought the 3rd movie was awful
The 4th one was just ok, there were less comedy moments in this one than i was expecting
My favourite line was the "Do the roar" "I love you Daddy" one. It was all right overall!

saw it last night. have always believed that Shrek didnt need sequals, and i really enjoyed the original film.
wasnt expecting much of this movie at all - as i didnt like 2 or 3. However, i thought it was okay - and better then the other 2 sequals.
not a patch on the original though.

I agree with some of the comments being made about the second film too. We all sat and watched the first one last night. First time in ages, and it's amazing how fresh and funny it still is. The whole fairy tale referencing and Disney mocking was much funnier and more timeless compared to the comedy product placement spotting in the second. There are some funny moments in the second one, but it's just not as good as the first. The third one though, really missed it's opportunity to be clever and funny.

The new one looks OK to me though actually, in spite of the pasting some here have given it.

It's miles better than the 3rd one (although that's not saying much) still not a patch on the first 2 though. Glad the Shrek part of the franchise is done for now, just hope the Puss In Boots spin-off is done well

really...?

well there were plenty of laughs at the theatre i went to
they must have been watching another film?

i enjoyed it, but did have the 3D experience.

my ranking of the 4 films would be:

1) shrek 2
2) shrek 1
3) shrek 4
4) shrek 3

Shrek Forever After: 3.5/5

I rather enjoyed it :D I liked the references to the 1st Shrek movie, it was also much better and funnier than the previous Shrek (Shrek 3) :)
But equally, this should be the end now, IMO. It was good but not a patch on Shrek 1 or 2.

"I love you Daddeh"
"Do the Roar"
:D

The Groundhog Day type montage of Shrek having the same day over and over again was also hilarious :D :p

she wasnt an orge, she was still cursed (by day one thing, by night other) at least that is how I understood, makes you wonder how she managed to put together her orge army.
