Shows You're Surprised Were Made

You were suprised by Tak? I was suprised it was made so later after the games (Second Upcoming Madagascar Penguin Series

3 Words (if it actually happens): The Clevland Show

Lil' Bush. It floors me that this show not only got green-lit, but also gets a second season. Granted, Comedy Central tried this once before with That's My Bush, but at least that show attempted to write to character and story, rather than topical events and base lampooning. I thought it would just be like any one-joke show and quickly pass, but now it's going to have a slow and painful death.

One show I can't believe was made, but glad it was, is Tripping the Rift. It's nice to see some CGI that can be violent, crude, sexy, humorous, and a science fiction parody.

Transformers: Animated

"Let's take one of the most popular and enduring toy/toon franchises ever, now at the peak of its popularity after a blockbuster film, and throw at it the worst animation it has ever received."

I'm always surprised when stupid and pointless looking stuff, like Squidbillies, is made. Who do they think will watch it, the desperately bored?

The animation isn't as horrible as people say, and the designs are a little wonky, but that show has some damn good writing behind it.

Honestly, I can't see why people complain about it when there are shows that are animated far worse.

To actually add something, I'll say I'm also surprised that Avatar got made, since I'd never imagine Nick taking such an (awesome) venture when it came to their programming.

I wasn't surprised that TA was made. I figured that some studio would produce a new Transformers cartoon series to cash in on the success of the live action movie. I just didn't expect CN studios to go quite so..."cartoony" with it.

The summer before the Super Mario Bros. Super Show premiered, I had always been thinking of what it would be like to have a cartoon based on Super Mario Bros. So I was surprised to see a commercial later on, for such a cartoon. I didn't get to watch it a lot, but I'll never forget how it felt to have a dream become a reality.

I thought the new Fantastic Four toon had some pretty good writing behind it, which would've been great if the animation wasn't so painful to sit through.

I'll be honest, I haven't seen more than a few seconds of the actual show, and maybe if I gave it a chance I'd feel differently and see the "damn good writing" that you speak of.

Planet Sheen.

OK, so I can take him for a few years on Jimmy Neutron. But why, oh Lord why, does the deranged little child need his own show? I'm sorta more surprised that Nick hasn't started promoting it, actually... I'm not that surprised. :anime:

I didn't expecting that one and it did well in Canada. YTV broadcasted it on Saturday mornings.

Back in time, I didn't expected toons who ripped-off more or less Knight Rider, like Turbo-Teen and Pole Position (not related to the Atari game of the same name)
