Shows that were canceled, brought back, and then canceled again

Do you know of any shows that were canceled, but then were revived because of fan demand, and then eventually got canceled again?

I highly suspect Futurama will go this route, as I doubt it'll last beyond 5 seasons (at the most) on Comedy Central.

The Critic - THREE times.

It started off at ABC during midseason, but got cancelled after it's initial run.

Then FOX picked it up a year later, once again during midseason. It was canceled after it's second season.

It doesn't technically count, but the then UPN network decided to pick up the show, but the deal fell through and plans were canceled after several scripts were written.

Then the show went online for several 'mini-sodes' that were animated in Flash that only lasted one run before the show was canceled for good.

Celebraty Deathmatch comes to mind. Why MTV decided to bring the awful show back to begin with is beyond me, but the viewers were clearly unamused as well.

Mostly before my time, but I know the game show $25,000 Pyramid was canceled in 1987 for another game show called Blackout. The latter lasted for only a few weeks before $25,000 came back — albeit only for two or three more months.

Also on the game show front, The Singing Bee started on NBC for a season, got canceled, and then swiftly uncanceled itself on CMT.

Johnny Bravo was initially cancelled after its first season. It was later brought back with a complete revamp and new writers years later. Then it was cancelled AGAIN and brought back AGAIN, this time with series creator Van Partible as main writer.

Dexter's Lab was also cancelled and brought back without Genndy Tartakovsky.

You honestly believe the show is going to last forever?

While I don't think it would go on as long as the Simpsons or Family Guy (or CC's own South Park), I think Futurama would last quite a bit longer if it were actually premiering it's new episodes on Fox, then airing a week later on Comedy Central like how AS does the FG airings.

Does the Ren & Stimpy revival count?

Also, wasn't The Big O brought back into production at the request of Adult Swim, only for it to end again?

Well, I'm pretty sure we all know about Jericho already (which is the show that immediately comes to mind when this sort of discussion is brought up), but that was live-action.

As far as animation, nothing comes to mind that hasn't already been mentioned. Home Movies was what I was thinking of, but somebody already beat me to the punch (just to clarify, though; it was actually cancelled again in 2004, not 2003).

Ooh... wow, my head hurts just thinking about that "revamp".

The film of those episodes should be thrown in a hole somewhere and burned. I just couldn't believe what I was watching when they brought it back. That abomination was not the Dexter's Lab that I came to know and love.

Sorry if that sounds a little harsh, but... they should have just left the show alone after the first run. There was no reason to bring it back if their plan all along was to throw everything out the window, and start from the ground-up; it didn't need that at all.

Over reaction much?

Yes it was different and new things hurt the show (Like Dexter's new voice), but I just threw continuity and the style of the previous seasons aside and found it enjoyable especially the 4th season.

And Genndy wrote and directed a few episodes of the "revamp".
