Shows that went adult/kiddie

Your point? The network likely changed sponsors during that time so's not to look like they were encouraging pregnant women to smoke. But that doesn't prove that The Flintstones went kiddie after Wilma gave birth.

Almost forgot--even after Wilma had her bun in the oven, no other cartoon since then, ever depicted a pregnant female. Oh, and at one point, Krabs claimed he was the cook on the S.S. Diarrhea--yet another taboo subject in cartoons.

Not true. There was Bobby's mother, who was pregnant all through the 2nd season of Bobby's World. Not to mention Di-Di Pickles, who gave to birth to Dil in The Rugrats Movie.

Indeed it did. That's what the next room over part meant. Pinky and the Brain made a similar joke, albeit less subtly. When Brain said he wanted to clone another child (or something) Pinky replied with "not tonight Brain, I have a headache!"

Anyway, Seems like the Flintstones is a special case. It was meant for Adults (as was Bullwinkle at the time), but it had a huge kiddy following as the years went on (and I'm still confused about Ciggy adverts... when exactly did the government ban them again?). years later, it would be reran on Saturday mornings, and soon local syndicated kid's blocks. The cereal and Vitamins came in the 70's, when they where exclusively marketed towards kids.

As I said earlier, same thing with the Simpsons. While during the 90's when it premired, the episodes were very adult, we had kids toys, Butterfinger ads, Acclaim video games, and little kid's t-shirts (I think I had one of the first Homer shirts in existance). But in recent years, the episodes have shifted to younger demographics, while still having the adult edge. This Sunday's Sid Vicious bit would fit perfectly as a kid's syndicated package, due to the toned down style of the subject matter. I always pictured in the future that the Simpsons would be in kid's syndication or something.

This may be a bit of a stretch, but I always thought Kim Possible was a lot smarter in the beginning. The core audience was never adults obviously, but the writing was more clever earlier on. The way that characters moved and interacted with each other seemed more real...and less cartoony. In some of the newer episodes there is a lot of (as Brad Bird would say) "fluff" animation with characters just kinda moving around in an unrealistic, totally unnecessary way. I noticed that Shego started to move her hands a lot in a really exaggerated way when she was talking. (which she never did before) Some people may not agree, but I consider that kind of thing to be very kiddy.

Some of the newer eps seemed like they could have been based on poorly written fanfiction.
