Shows That Have Eps Without Main Character/s Appearing.

I don't know why this question just sprung to mind but I was just thinking of some cartoons where the main characters of the show (the one in the title sequence every week/plot usually revolves around them, etc) don't make any kind of appearence (or at best a small cameo) in a specific episode. This allows side and sub-main characters to pick up the slack and deliever a different kind of episode. Sometimes it work. Sometimes it dosen't. Try and name them here. I'll start.

Invader Zim: "Game Slave 2" didn't have any Zim at all really. There were a couple of other eps in the first/second season that didn't really have Zim and a couple that didn't have Dib in them but this one sticks to my mind the most.
Avatar: "Zuko Alone" - Besides the 'Previously on Avatar" segment this episode focused just on the firebending prince coming to a small earth nation town and learning more about his past.
Teen Titans: "Lightspeed" - Another somewhat "villian" focused episode, this time on Jynx and the other Hive Five trying to capture Kid Flash (this would later lead Jynx to reforming on the good side as seen in "Titans Together").
Justice League Unlimited: "The Cat And The Canary" (well Martian Manhunter had a non-speaking cameo but otherwise this was dominated by Green Arrow, Black Canary and Wildcat in a more sublte and human story about the addictions of fighting and not wanting to grow old and forgotten).

Can anyone think of some more definte non main character at all spotlights?

One of the second half SD Gundam Force eps "Revival! We're the heroes?!" is given over to telling what happened to the previous seasons villains. The main characters do appear but it's mostly told from the old bad guy's POV.

This is a very interesting topic. I've noticed that Naruto spends many episodes unconscious, and although he can be seen passed out/sleeping in some of them, he doesn't have any lines, nor does he move.

Bob is usually considered the main character of Reboot, but during the fourth season, he disappeared for a few episodes and the show shifted focus on Matrix and AndrAIa's quest to find him.

I can't remember the name, but there's an episode of Aladdin where Iago falls in love with a bird named Thundra(?) and Aladdin doesn't appear in it at all (but Genie writes him a letter in the beginning).

Superman only appears as a baby in "Last Son of Krypton" part 1 and Batman only has one scene in the episodes "Batgirl Returns" and "Girl's Night Out". Also, the Justice League Unlimited episode "Alive!" only has villains in it.

Ren & Stimpy's "A Hard Day's Luck", "Powdered Toast Man vs. Waffle Woman", and "Feud For Sale" don't have the two main characters in them at all. Oddly enough, aside from "A Hard Day's Luck", the other two episodes didn't suffer too much due to their absence, either.

Goku isn't in several episodes of DBZ.

And in others he gets less than 1 minute of screentime when he's either training or recovering from injuries.

The Transformers G1 ep "The God Gambit" featured neither Prime nor Megatron. Prime also doesn't appear in "A Decepticon Raider in King Arthur's Court".

There were a couple of 15 minute Real Ghostbusters eps where one or two of the GBs don't appear (this was in the fourth season).

And there must have been a few Hey Arnold eps where Helga or Gerald or whoever didn't appear.

Kids Next Door operation TRAINING did not have any of the kids next door and operation FLUSH only had them in the last minuet. The Ed Edd n Eddy epiosed See No Ed the Eds were only in the las 45 seconds

There was a Cow & Chicken episode featuring the Red Guy. Cow & Chicken didn't appear until the last few seconds when we find out the Red Guy tied them up to chairs.

Another one...the Powerpuff Girls ep "Custody Battle" doesn't feature the PPGs at all.

I also believe there's a Simpsons ep where Marge isn't seen - I think it's "Krusty Gets Kancelled" from season 4, but I'm not sure.

Actually Prime did appear in "The God Gambit" at the begining of the episode. However he didn't appear the second one you mentioned along with "Auto-Bop", "Hoist Goes Hollywood", & "The Trans-European Express". Megatron didn't appear in "The God Gambit" as well, along with "The Gambler".

Neither Edward and/or Alphonse Elric appeared in the Fullmetal Alchemist episode "The Flame Alchemist In The Bachelor Lieutenant And The Mystery Of Warehouse 13" save for the opening and preview.

There's the Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 episode called "Life's Ruff" which did not feature Mario at all.

That would be "Rain of Terror".

Correct, but Marge was briefly seen in a couple of scenes, but had no dialogue. Maggie actually didn't appear in at least a couple of episodes.

And he's only seen as young Clark Kent in "New Kids in Town" when Brainiac went back in time in an attempt to kill him in Smallville.

In some One Piece episodes Luffy doesn't appear. (this mainly happens during flashbacks)
In a DuckTales episode "Sir Gyro de Gearloose" Scrooge is mentioned but not seen.

Thanks

I don't know if that would count since he's still the focus of the episode, but maybe. He isn't Superman at all and Superman's VA Tim Daly doesn't have any lines.

Two episodes of Gargoyles, "The Silver Falcon" and "Kingdom", don't feature Goliath at all.

the 1967-70 Spider-man version, when Ralph Bakshi was in charge, there was very few cameo appearances of J. Johan Jameson and Betty Brant as well as some vilains. Same for Rocket Robin Hood where Prince John and the Sheriff of NOTT only appeared twice in season 3.

In the Raccoons, Sophia Tutu appeared just one or 2 times when Bentley Raccoon had appeared in the series.

Goldorak/Grandizer episode 16, doesn't show the main Vegan commanders, the pilot of the saucer animal then Grandizer fighted was on his own.

Gargamel and Azrael don't appeared it all in some Smurfs episodes.

Luanne didn't appeared in some King of the Hill episodes.
