Show Us Your Music Player

Ya but last.fm just plays the songs.... It doesnt make a list of songs for you. Which is pretty cool, I use Last.fm on the xbox to play stuff while I am cleaning or something.

I tried messing with pandora but I way prefer Last.fm.... I was just hoping someone had created something like genius on the web somewhere.

*Edit... I found something for Winamp it seems Unsupported at the momment considering the people who made it were bought out or something. Seems Musicip use to come with Winamp but it was discontinued so they took it out.

But heres an article on it and a download at the bottom for the plugin.

I am not sure how well it works considering it taking about a hour and half to get through half of my collection at least thats where the bar is.... Not sure if it has to do anything else.

Yeah that looks sweet. Sorta similar to Mediamonkey. Only differences are the big equalizer at the bottom, and the artist pic/info part in the bottom right (which looks pretty cool I have to admit.) Not sure if MM can be configured to do that stuff as well, I really need to mess with it more.
Does Foobar do the extra stuff like converting between audio types and ripping CRAB etc also?

I actually decided to give Foobar a try myself. Your layout looks really similar to mine Zero.

I simplified my Winamp over Christmas because it was just getting too slow. I honestly love this method, I just pick out a serious of albums at random, set it on shuffle, and let it play. Sure it's not fancy like some of those foobar pictures, but damn is it ever efficient.

the latest iteration of my foobar config, with a dark visual style i used for about a day. it looks pretty damn slick, but it's not very usable unfortunately...

Well MM and winamp dont drain any RAM, plus i got plenty to spare.

I don't just use mine to play music though, so I need and regularly use the features in it, even more so as I rip more CRAB. So if ya just playing music then ya may not want anything more.

you can do that with foobar too :D

you can probably just use hyphenated genre tags (Jazz - Big Band), then when building your tree, use foobar's amazing scripting to split it into nodes. i'm guessing the $replace function could be used for this. might have to check on the foobar forums to be sure. (i know for certain that Media Monkey can do this, i had my tags set up like this while i was using it as my main player a few years back).

look here for more info - this "Title Formatting" can be used throughout foobar, in everything from playlist columns to status bar text.

Foobar2000:Title Formatting Reference - Hydrogenaudio Knowledgebase

as a fallback, foobar lets you create your own custom tags. anything you want. you can't expect other players to be able to read them, but as long as you use foobar, you can use them just fine.

Have you tried some of the different customizable skins? I found the default one just okay, but i added a couple more, changed around a few things and got it looking like this. You like?
