Thanks! Panel Stack Splitter was easy once I got it and I've really used it extensively, although that might not be appearant at first glance. I've used it to create all the borders in my setup, so there's quite a lot of panel stack splitters inside other panel stack splitters. :p:

As for the ELPlaylist, I stole it's script from another theme and sort of built up my own look around it. The mod track panel comes from you so then there's not that much left which require work really. ;)

ELPlaylist certainly is much harder though there hasn't been much need for me to add code. I've slapped on album type to the grouping headers and increased the size of the album art and that's a 2 minutes job tops. As for this setup, I like the way it looks but I actually miss the scrollbar. I can make it reappear, but then it doesn't look right! If only there was a way to customize the look of those without changing your whole Windows setup ..

last.fm

many players these days let you send the songs you listen to over to your last.fm profile (they call it 'scrobbling'). over time it builRAB up a huge list of recommendations based on the stuff you listen to. very very cool service.

after bouncing around with players for like 3months... I finally settled with Mediamonkey.....

It gives everything I want with little tuning.... and the big big thing is it handle my 78k in songs with out lagging and works well with my IPOD.

I went with foobar for a while but once I loaded all my music on their it started acting berserk.

I tired Mediamonkey a couple months ago and didn't like it but I think I just didn't give it a enough of a chance. Now I am in love.

Did anybody else start using the Soft Playlists plug-in for Foobar2000? It creates playlists based on your Last.fm top tracks, loved tracks etc as well as your frienRAB and neighbours top tracks. And it has a function like Genius as well so you can create playlists that go well with a certain song. It's pretty damn good :)

Yeah, it works a bit differently so at first it may seem awkward. Check the website to see about compatability with the latest iPoRAB.

The only drawback is that audiobooks bought from Audible cannot be done through MM as Apple have cornered that, as well as music bought from iTunes, but then again, I don't see why people buy music from iTunes store.

You
Start up media player
Select album
Press Play

Me
Open hard drive
Select album
Press play

And I can probably find mine quicker due to not having some huge assed media program draining the RAM.
I'm not seeing where the analogy fits TBH.

After a lot of time spent thinking, ifuring out code, writing, hunting components, reading up on various forum threaRAB, I finally have a foobar that's working and looking like I want it.

Screenie 1 - Looking at Caravan's albums from the 1970s.
Screenie 2 - Shows how compilation albums appear and the visualization tab in the bottom right.

I'm quite satisfied with the library tree on the left hand side of the screen. I've set up some filters (ex. for "1970s" and "MA Compilations") and they work flawlessly :)
