Show Us Your Helmet.

The article posted previously makes a lot of sense. I don't think you need an expensive helmet, but Id be wary of a non-branded one. Buying from a reputable brand means they're more likely to have done due diligence in building a quality product. Non-branded products commonly have short cuts built in to them that you might not want to deal with.

I might suggest the AGV Miglia at $150.

Same here, I had somebody put a tinted shield on my Suomy and just left it open and wore clears at night... Too bad they couldn't steal Arai's system!

new Kami topic.

Just noticed that comment on the end of Kami's post there.

Haha, I wish I did have such an awesome girl friend like that haha. Just someone to share in the riding and ducati passion.

Last month I was at the track and there was this hot girl on a gixxer, and she was pretty quick too. At the end of the day I saw her drive off towing her trailer with her bike and in the passenger seat I noticed her boy friend. Of course I chuckled and thought he was probably there to support her.

I don't know if I could have a girl friend that rides a motorcycle and not ride one myself. Wouldn't ever wanna be caught on the back of her bike haha.

Sorry for getting off the helmet topic haha.

Ok back on topic.

I'm not a big Shoei fan, doesn't seem to fit me well. But then again that's because different helmet fits different shaped heads. That's what I really like about Arai brand in general, they accomodate differences in people's head. Corsair & quantum fits one while the profile fits another, etc etc.

I'd definitely like to try on an AGV but afraid to make a purchase to find it not fit. Unfortunately there aren't many if any stores that I know that carries them. At least not one that I've been to yet.

And the Gunwind.
The newer helmets (SPec-1, I think Vandal) use a tool to release the side pods
The Gunwind/Ventura is a snap-on/snap-off system

Its easy enough.
I start at the top of the side pods & just pull it of. Never had a prob
U just have to take care to align ok & to hear 3 "clicks" when U replace the pod to be sure it's secured OK, otherwise it could fly off.

Gwen, I'm LAZY

I just don't like that I have to have a tool regardless of how small it is. not even a second to pop off or put back on an arai. I accidently didn't realigned it once and ended up have the vizor directly above the helmet from high winds. No fun haha.

that's funny. i used to date a coast guard junior officer. he hadn't ridden in a long time, but loved being on the bike. i guess being on the back of a bike is better than not being on a bike at all. on group rides i'd pack him everywhere. it was tons of fun, n we used to get our pic taken all the time. guys got a kick out of it. he didn't mind one bit.

for some reason other friends seem to want to get packed for the fun of it. kind of weird.
