I need a lot more than that helmet for mowing, bugs are crazy bad up here. As for crashing that helmet had to pass DOT same as the 500 dollar Arai at the store. I think my chances of coming out ok with my Ebay debranded leathers and 90 dollar helmet are a lot better than the guy with the 900 dollar Arai (counting his custom airbrushing of course) and the shorts and flip flops.

To true Rap. I am a belever that fit is WAY more imortant than status. I mean $$ spent.

Although I haven't seen it there could be evidence that in a really severe crash some helmets could stand up better than others. Cars are a very different story, I'd rather take my chances in a collision with my 1975 Oldmobile with minimum crash protection than in a civic regardless of how it rated. Size matters, Helmets are much more equal. Really, it's padding, impact styrofoam and a shell right?

To be truely safe we wouldn't ride motorcycles in the first place. Don't worry, there's goverment agencies already working to see that some day we don't.

Unlike some people on here I ain't rich and I never said anyone had to have a $1000 Helmet.
I wish that I could believe the only diff between a $90 and a $900 helmet is the brand name and some flashy paint it'd save me a bundle.

I dont even own an expensive helmet, but I am not going to try and pretend that there is no reason they cost more. I have little doubt that any "approved" and rated helmet is fine for most, not for others

First helmet. Reserved as a passanger helmet.

Second. Retired. I crashed with this piece of artwork on and got 2 deep gashes on the green side so it's compromised. Maybe I'll have it 'repaired' and keep it in a case or something.

Current lid. Nice and comfy and well ventilated. Not as badass as the AGV Ago replica, but it does the job.

I really like AGV helmets. In the future, I'll probably get a Rossi Replica. I don't know which one yet though.
