Not all is there, though, as I haven't still fully unpacked after getting back from Christmas break.

I don't have any pictures handy since they're sort of in far too many different locations, but the collection titles can be found here:

Since the page may not load for some people due to the number of titles (it's crashed me a couple of times), after adding in today's arrivals I'm now at 3309 releases. Not including "live action" porn or DVD-R's of stuff.

Regretfully I don't have a camera to take a picture of my anime DVD collection, but it's probably slightly larger than Crion's top three rows of shelves (i.e. somewhere north of 250 DVDs).

And yes, I have a job, and yes, a significant chunk of my discretionary spending each month goes to anime.

And yes, I also go strictly in alphabetical order except for the Ah!/Oh! My Goddess! thing. The upside is that you always know exactly where any given DVD is, the downside is that you have to adjust your shelves on a regular basis to make room for the new stuff.

Do you realize you spent over $90,000 on DVD's! 8O

Sure, you guys have pretty swell collections, but none of you have anything on me. I've got a whopping 4, count 'em, 4 anime DVD's on my shelf. Yes, it's amazing, I know. Without further ado (as I know you are all sweating in anticipation), here is my lovely collection of digital versatile disks:

Since that first one had a glare, here's a close-up of the top shelf, which hosts 3 of my 4 anime DVD's (the other, a Hana Yori Dango disk is my sister's anyway).

I know it's quite underwhelming, but at least I've got a life-size cutout of Humphrey Bogart in my room!

Bamboo has decided to pressure me into post some pictures. These came from an article that hasn't been updated since 11/09/01

The last few pictures show the library shelves that were built and do hold most of the discs, even more so since I thinpak stuff. But the only anime I keep out now are series that are still running, everything else gets packed away in long sleeve boxes, numbered and sealed.

Is that 3309 different anime titles? Or 3309 pieces of DVDs.

Either way, WOW!

I haven't got a photo to show, but maybe I will get off my lazy arse and take one tonight. And my stuff is all over the place, in the house, on the TV rack, etc. I will gather everything together and take some pictures.

Anyway, as of today, I have over 200 anime titles in my collection. And that excludes titles whose names I'm not very sure of and did not include in my list. And also excludes animes owned by my wife (most of the Crayon Shin-chan seasons and 2 Crayon Shin-chan movies, and Candy Candy). About half are DVDs (several DVDs to a season), the rest are VCDs (the more prevalent format here anyway), usually with about 2 episodes per CD for a 12 to 13-disc full set. BTW, I also have several copies of some titles. Such as Spirited Away. Bought the VCD, loved it, and bought the DVD. Then bought another version with the extra DVD (which includes the "making of" special), so I have 3 copies of Spirited Away. And that's just one example. I won't count them as being separate additions in my list, but they are taking up space. And that will show in the pictures.

Just imagine how much I'd have to spend on shelves to hold that lot. I'd much rather save that money to spend on anime.

And just in case you're wondering. I don't rob, I don't steal. I have a full-time job that pays well. That's all. And I have a secret fund (which was originally intended to pay for mods to my car) that's almost dry now. And lastly, my wife has no idea whatsoever how big my collection is. She will divorce me if she knew.

I see that you own a HK DVD of Bleach an Yu-gi-oh, unless these are official R2 DVD's

Whenever I leave the Air Force, and find a place to live on my own, I will build me a nice DVD shelving unit that is 8 feet wide and about 6 feet tall, and about 6" deep - double sided, using .5"x6" boards and a .5" plywood, and then laquered with your typical brown laquer (I don't think I'll ever own that many DVD's - and a 72" tall shelving unit is what, about 11 shelves?)

Let's see, 96" - 1" for the sides = 95". A DVD is about .5" wide, so that would be about 190 per shelve, and 11 shelves = 2090 DVD's
